Counter-Strike 2 features dozens of different cases, but there are more collections! But what exactly are they, and why are the skin divided in this way? CS.Money blog explores this topic.
Need to buy the right skin without paying more? Cs.money makes it easy!

What is a collection of leather in Counter-Strike 2?

Let’s start on the basis. Collection is a set of leather released at the same time and is tied together to the general theme. Anubis’s collection took us to Ancient Egypt, while the Norse collection buried us in Scandinavian mythology.
From a practical point of view, a collection is important especially for exchange. If you exchange ten Eko Galil AR leather, you will always receive wild animals M4A1-S-no other red leather from different collections will appear. You can read more about the exchange in our detailed guide.
How is the collection different from the leather series?

It is important not to disrupt the collection with the leather series. The collection consists of skin released together, although they may look very different from each other. Serial refers to the skin that has the same design but is released in a different collection.
How is the collection different from the CS2 case?

In many cases, cases and similar collections. If you open Kasing Falchion, all the skin in it will come from the falchion collection, and you will not find this skin in other cases. This may seem like a case and collection is the same, but there are major differences.
Collections are not always bound to a kasing. For example, in Armory, you can get skin from three different collections, no one is related to the case. Souvenir containers from the majors also contain unique collections.
So, in such a way in mathematical terms:
Collection> Case
Types of Collections in CS2
There are several dozen collections in counterattacks, categorized by how the skin of them can be obtained.
Collection of cases

The biggest category. Counter-Strike has a large number of kasing, each with your own collection. The list of all CS cases will take up too much space, so we have a separate article for that.
Some cases are still down, while others are no longer supported. But if you have kasing and keys, you can still open the skin from each collection. However, buying skin directly at CS.Money is often cheaper than gambling with a kasing.

Collection of weekly drops

Every week, CS2 players receive a weekly decline from Valve. This can include cases, graffiti, or independent cases. The following collection contains skin that can appear on weekly drops:
- Bank collection
- Italian collection
- Lake collection
- Safehouse collection
- Train collection
- Dust collection 2
- Inferno collection 2018
- Nuke collection 2018
This skin also sometimes can be found in eSports containers (although some of them are in a very rare), but the easiest way to get it is through weekly drops or by buying it from other players.
Collection of Esports containers

Esports containers don’t require keys. Previously, players could accept it by watching the flow of large tournaments, but now they need viewers.
Complete list of collections matches the collection of valve tournament maps over the past decade. In particular, four of this collection also appeared in weekly drops:
Esports Collection from Shanghai Major:
- Inferno collection 2018 (+ weekly drop)
- NUKE 2018 collection (+ weekly drop)
- Vertigo Collection 2021
- Ancient collection
- Mirage 2021 Collection
- Anubis collection
- The 2021 dust 2 collecion
Longer major eSports collection:
- Train collection (+ weekly drop)
- DUST 2 collection (+ weekly drop)
- Mirage collection
- Nuke Collection
- Cache collection
- Cobblestone collection
- Overpass collection
- Inferno collection
With Valve announced the return of the train to the Austin main map pool, we can see the 2025 train collection. Maybe also Inferno and Nuke will get an update before the tournament.
Inactive collection

This collection contains skin that is no longer available through drops or kasing and can only be purchased on a trading platform. They are included in two groups:
- Operating collection (exclusive for previous operations)
- Drops old from more than a decade ago, when the valve first introduced the skin and gave it after a few hours played.
CS2 collections are displayed in operations:
- Alpha collection (Operation Bravo)
- Operation Breakout (Operation Breakout)
- Collection of Gods & Monsters (Operation Bloodhound, Operation Wildfire, Operation Hydra)
- The Rising Sun Collection (Operation Bloodhound, Operation Wildfire, Operation Hydra)
- Collection of Chop Shop (Operation Bloodhound, Operation Wildfire, Operation Hydra)
- Canal Collection (Shattered Web Operation)
- Norse Collection (Shattered Web Operation)
- Collection of St. Marc (Shattered Web Operation)
- HAVOC COLLECTION (Operation Broken Fang)
- Control Collection (Broken Fang Operation)
These collections are now considered rare, and the skin can be very expensive, sometimes reaching the price of five digits in USD.
Collection from weapons warehouse

CS2 introduces The Armory, a shop in a game where players can exchange stars to be looted. Stars are obtained by buying a weapons warehouse pass, and rewards including leather from the following collections:
- Overpass collection 2024
- Graphic collection
- Sports & Field Collection
More collections are likely to be added in the future, and valve will provide an update first.
Other unique collections

Finally, there are three special collections that do not match the previous category. Each contains only one skin:
- P250 X-Ray X-Ray-Ray-Ray Collection. This collection was introduced because of the French gambling law, and we have written a separate article about its history.
- Blacksite Collection-including MP5-SD Lab Mouse. This skin was introduced together with the danger zone mode, but after being released, Valve almost did not mention the danger zone again.
- Limited edition items – currently including Desert Eagle Heat treated. We assume that Arsenal skin is limited in the future will also belong to this collection.
CS2 collection is a broad topic – more than ten years of leather has introduced countless variations and distribution methods. But if you just want to take cold skin, go to cs.money – a great offer is waiting for you!
